Greenville is a part of Pitt County and has its own rules and regulations covering building and zoning. While a permit is not required for a typical fence installation, fences must still be located on your property and must follow setback rules.

Fence Permit

A building permit is not required for fence projects. However, property owners must contact the Planning Department to ensure the fence is located on their property and meets setback requirements. Big Jerry’s Fencing helps owners understand these requirements and apply for special permits if required.

Penalties of No Permit

We had an issue with a defective latch and they came back out and fixed that and secured the gate post more for our peace of mind.
