Fayetteville fence projects must comply with City codes and Cumberland County regulations. The town has its own Unified Development Ordinance that outlines rules and regulations regarding fences.
Fence Permit
The UDO for Fayetteville clearly states that a zoning permit is required before installing fences. Residents will also need a Certificate of Appropriateness if the fence is being installed in a Historic or Landmark Overlay (HLO) District.
Height Restrictions
Fences must be between six to eight feet in height.
Penalties of No Permit
Building without a required permit leads to fines, a work stoppage order, removal, or demolition of the fence.

I had Big Jerry’s install a 4 foot wooden privacy fence in a yard of a home my wife and I recently purchased. The home had an irrigation system for which I had a few very details on where the plumbing actually was located since I didn’t install it. Edwin and the guys from Jerry’s were very diligent in ensuring the didn’t hit the irrigation system while they were hand digging the post holes. I really appreciated this. The fence looks great. They cleaned up and left my yard clean of debris. Very happy with their work.

Highly recommend Big Jerry’s for anyone looking to install a fence in their yard. They are professional. Their prices are competitive and reasonable.They respond to questions quickly.. They are very efficient in communicating. The installation crew are punctual and clean up after themselves. We have a sloped yard and they did an amazing job making our fence look smooth and seamless. We liked them so much, that we brought them back to do another smaller decorative privacy fence. The quality of the fences are. Excellent. We used an aluminum (4’ Elon) fence for the perimeter of the yard, and the horizontal wood fence (skyline deluxe ) for the privacy decorative fence.

The entire Big Jerrys team made the entire process very enjoyable. From design to completion they were communicative and always helpful. Front office & sales staff were stellar. The Cannonball & aluminum fence they installed on our property is quality & absolutely gorgeous. Fredy & Ramon are the Picasso of fence installation. My man KB came through with the beautiful pre-stain & even came back to touch up after installation was done. Overall 10/10, look no further for your fencing needs.
