Big Jerry’s Fencing Lewisville Permitting Requirements
Lewisville is located in Forsyth County. As such, property owners will have to follow both the town’s Unified Development Ordinance and county rules and regulations.
Fence Permit
Fences installed at a property in a historic district will need a Certificate of Appropriateness for Local Historic Landmarks. Additionally, a zoning permit is required before fence installation. Property owners will also need to apply for a permit with Forsyth County if their fence exceeds 6 feet in any dimension. Big Jerry’s Fencing can help property owners understand all these requirements and assist in applying for permits.
Zoning Considerations
There are no setback requirements for fences in Forsyth County. Fences can be placed anywhere on your property except in easements, right of way, or utility access areas. However, the County also advises staying at least 6 inches off your property line.

Requested quote - recieved in speedy time. Once agreed on quote, job was scheduled and done to our standards. Maria in office was a pleasure to work with. The driveway was left with forklift tire marks all over it, she quickly scheduled a crew to come out and power wash it-- looks brand new again. Great service and would recommend highly. Big Jerry’s was a life saver. We ran out of time to install the fence at our new house. We had the materials, but needed a quick install. The owner, Maria, sent us a fair quote very fast. They scheduled install within days. The crew showed up as promised and worked harder than any crew we have seen. They did an excellent job and got it 100% complete in 2 days. It was a pretty big job, about 400 feet of post and wire fencing with 2 gates. It turned out beautiful and sturdy, even with a bit of a steep grade on one side.
Biggest thing is everything was completed as promised, unlike most things nowadays.
I highly recommend them. The first company we called tried to charge 75% more for the same job.
