Big Jerry’s Fencing Permitting Requirements
Lewisburg is a city in and the county seat of Marshall County, Tennessee. It follows its own building ordinance that covers fence permits.
A fence permit is required in Lewisburg only if the fence exceeds 7 feet in height. Property owners must confirm sight-distance and setback rules with Planning & Codes at (931) 359-4013 before building.
Front yard fences are capped at four feet if present within ten feet of the front property line. Front yard fencing is limited to decorative brick or wrought iron.
Brick, rock, wrought iron, finished wood, and vinyl are allowed for street-facing and corner sections. Razor wire, concertina wire, and barbed wire are prohibited in and near residential areas.

Fence material selection is especially hard in Lewisburg due to its humid subtropical climate, 56 inches of average rainfall, and winters that dip below freezing temperatures. Anything that is not engineered fails miserably. Aluminum, vinyl, and pressure-treated wood Big Jerry’s Fencing can help you sort out what applies to your property. Generally, a 100-linear-foot fence installation in the Lewisburg area runs somewhere between $1,500 and $4,500, depending on material and design, with larger pasture and acreage projects scaling up from there.

We make buying fences fast and easy so you can protect your loved ones and your investments.
Big Jerry’s Fencing leads with boots-on-the-ground experience. Our franchise-backed, locally owned model pairs real systems with craftsmanship, leaving you with a fence that not only looks good but also holds up around the clock.
No two properties call for the same fencing strategy. That is why we build to what your property actually needs, whether that means pasture enclosure, commercial boundary marking, or privacy for your home.
Some gates get walked through twice a day. Others get driven through by a truck hauling a horse trailer. We build both kinds, and we ask which one we’re building before we start. We customize gates that match your needs.
Tearing down a fence is not always the right fix. We inspect your fence condition and provide repairs without burning a hole in your pocket.
Wood comes as the obvious choice when imagining a pasture. It covers a large area without demanding the most expensive material on the list, and with a stain every few years, it holds up well over time.
Lightweight and elegant, aluminum holds its own against rust for decades thanks to a powder-coated finish, all while offering a clean, open look with clear sightlines.
Vinyl fences are ideal for owners who don’t want to keep a constant check on their fence. These fences resist warping, rust, and termites without demanding upkeep. An occasional rinse brings them back to their like-new condition.
We started with the simple goal of providing quality fences and providing for family. Our founder, Big Jerry, started building fences on weekends as a police officer. We’ve always valued protecting family and property.
Now we have grown to multiple states, but our mission is the same. We make buying fences quick and easy, so you can protect your loved ones and your investments.
