Big Jerry’s Fencing Rocky Mount Permitting Requirements
Rocky Mount fence projects require city permits within the city limits and county approval for properties located in Nash or Edgecombe counties outside the city limits.

A permit is required for fence installations within city limits.
Permit Fee
Permit fee is calculated based on the overall project cost. If a project costs less than $5,000, applicants only need to pay $65. For a fence installation project costing between $5,000-$10,000, the permit fee is $75. For fence installation projects costing more than $10,000, the fee is $100.
Penalties of No Permit
Construction without permits results in violation citations, work stoppages, required modifications, or removal orders. In some cases, legal action may also be taken.

We were on a tight deadline and they came to an area that was outside their normal service area. We had an issue with a defective latch and they came back out and fixed that and secured the gate post more for our peace of mind.
